Unicorns in a box!

 Main Ingredients:
Cheeky Modern Pop Paper Pad from Michaels (Canada)

Simon Says Inside the Box Challenge: Click HERE to enter!

I love this honey bee celebration set! It is fantastic! I was feeling whimsical, especially after my dragon cards, and had to do more mythological creatures! Silly me forgot that I actually HAD THE DIES for the unicorn set and cut them all out by hand! Uggh! Oh well! They still look good!

If you are wondering why my Mama Elephant stamp set is different from the one in the link, I got mine from Michaels. So it had less stamps, but it came with the dies instead. I can also tell you from experience that they are not difficult to fussy-cut out! I love this paper pad so much! It has kitties on it and even balloon animals! I will definitely be using it a lot! I got it from a 40% section in the scrap booking area of Michaels.Yay sales!

Dragons!!!

Main Ingredients:
Aurora Hot Buy Scrapbooking Paper Pad 12x12 from Michaels

Okay, so when I saw that SimonSays Stamps Wednesday Challenge was anything goes...I went to dragons! Because they are awesome! So my first dragon card is for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which you can enter HERE!
My second card is for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge which you can enter HERE!

I fell in love with this scrapbook pad at Michaels just this morning! It was only 12 dollars! Woohoo for a bargain! Plus it's always nice to be able to buy supplies locally in Canada because not only is it all in Canadian dollars, but also NO SHIPPING COST! Yay!

I used the Stamping Bella dragons for both cards, and only the sentiments and little poofs of smoke from the MFT set. (Even though those dragons are adorable too! )
I thought it would tie in nicely using some little gems from the dollar store with the gemstone paper.

MFT Sketch Challenge 377

 Main Ingredients:
bb-i-knead-you My Favorite Things Stamp (and Die) Set
Bo Bunny 6x6 Paper Pad

Another day, another sketch challenge!
You can enter it HERE!

I decided to use a black cardstock card base for this card, I felt like the blues and yellows worked a lot better with it than on a white one. I die cut out all of my papers and got ready to glue! And foam tape! I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a good pattern paper to go with my calico cat, but I think this one worked out pretty well!

Arn't the sentiments with this set so sweet??!

Simon Says Floral Frenzy: PIZZA!

 Main Ingredients:
Recollections Stamp and Die Kit 'Cheeky Modern Pop' Collection- From Michaels
New Essentials Paper Pad- From Michaels

I thought I'd try to think outside of the box for this Wednesday's Challenge. Actually-I've been thinking a lot about pizza lately! I chose pizza-like colors to stamp out my floral images with some green. I also measured my oval die with my already cut out pizza to make sure that it would fit it! I would have gone one frame smaller, but my smaller oval die only cut out stitches, not the entire oval! Ah well!
I used the die cuts to get all of the floral images ( It's always worth it to have the dies when it is a stamp set with tons of tiny little pieces!). I glued them all around my oval. I thought my outside still looked a little boring, so I decided to stamp the pepperoni all around the outside to make a pattern.
The sentiment on the inside reads "pizza my heart", which came with the stamp set.

I also added a tiny little pizza and sentiment on the back of the card, just to add a little something cute! This stamp set and the pattern paper I used are all still available at Michaels (at least the Canadian one) when I went in yesterday.

Lawn Fanatics Challenge 25

 Main Ingredients:

This will be my first time entering a Lawn Fanatics Challenge! Check it out HERE!
The color theme was rainbow! I couldn't think of a better set to use than the laundry one! I love the Doodlebug paper pad! It worked SO GREAT for the rainbow themed challenges this week! I also added a few sequins to add some more color to the card, which I also think kind of look like colored bubbles going around the machine!

A quick stamping of the laundry basket on the inside. No sentiment to allow for versatility.

Winnie and Walter March Color Combo Challenge

 Main Ingredients:

Can we all just take a moment to congratulate Winnie and Walter on making the greatest stamp set ever? I mean-LOOK AT IT! The kitties! Kitties everywhere so cute! I am sure that most of us have a cat that is a perfect match for that chubby cat sitting in the box! I know I have at least a few!

Okay-to the card! You can enter the challenge by clicking HERE!

I played around a lot with all of the different dies until I found an arrangement I liked. I die cut the scallop dies on some black card stock to add to the card because when I just had all of the colorful pattern paper on top of one another they seemed to blend too much. I used a white gelly roll pen to add some shine lines on the teacup as well.

As usual I stamped the inside with another cute cat from the stamp set. I didn't add a sentiment inside so that it could be used for any occasion. I can't wait to make more cards with this set!

A Cup of Tea Card Just Because

 Main Ingredients:
BoBunny 6 x 6 Paper Pads

Sorry about the blurred stamp set, my camera only wanted to focus on the paper! The link shows it perfectly so you can click there to see them better.

I was originally going to use a bunch of ADORABLE coffee&magic stamps by Stamping Desert Divas for this card, but when I put it with the paper I had cut out they just seemed to fall into the background. I had already created my entire card base and knew that I wanted it to be tea themed, so I improvised with Pink and Main. I am very happy with how this card turned out! I think the mouse in the cup goes really well with the pattern papers.

Just a nice card that you could send to anyone at anytime to let them know you care about them.

Really sweet sentiments came with this set!

MFT Birthday Project

 Main Ingredients:

Another day, another challenge! My Favorite Things is hosting another Birthday challenge and you can read all about it and enter it HERE!

This one is a birthday card for my uncle. I decided to look through my papers first and then chose my colors for my images to based off of the pattern paper. I think it worked out really well! I had the die set for these stamps so it was easy-peasy cutting them out. The bears in this set are so adorable! I had originally colored the bear a much lighter brown, but when I went to do some shading I accidentally grabbed the wrong, and much darker, marker. Oops! He still turned out really well, so I am okay with that "happy accident" (Thanks Bob Ross).

I almost always stamp the inside of my card with either an uncolored image of the main stamp from the front of the card, or an uncolored image from the same stamp set. I think it really adds to the card when the stamping continues on the inside. Enough of the boring blank cards! Plus, it's too intimidating to think you have to fill that entire blank space with your writing!

Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge #85

 Main Ingredients:
Your Next Stamp I Love Chocolate Stamp Set
(Unfortunately this set is retired, but this YNS Cupcake Die would be a great substitute!)

Yes, it's another coffee congratulations card! My favorite part of this card is the coffee and tea border near the top! It actually cuts as a separate piece, but I just lined the cut marks up and glued it back in place with the paper. I tried to keep everything within the color challenge as well, but the sketch was my priority.

I also added just a few coffee colored embellishments that I got from a Hero Arts kit that just happened to match really well!

Obligatory picture of my cat trying definitely helping!

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge # 376

Main Ingredients
Stamping Bella Happy Everything Bunny Stamp  (Currently on sale for 25% off until April 1st)

Another Easter card for 2 different challenges this time!

I really loved the sketch for this week! I was so excited to use my stamping bella bunny stamp! I fussy cut the image out and propped it up with some foam squares from the dollar store! I noticed that it seemed a bit too empty and grey, so I thought I could add some small egg stamps on it to brighten it up. It did not work so well! It came out too messy and looks like a very bad after thought! Oops!!

I am still happy with the sketch part and the colors I used. If I did it again I would either use a pattern paper for the base rather than just grey or I would fussy cut out some small eggs or flower images to place on the empty spots.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

 Main Ingredients:

So the theme for this Wednesday's challenge was...EASTER!

This was a very fun and quick card to make. Your Next Stamp always has great holiday stamp sets and I had the perfect adorable set for this challenge! I mainly wanted to mention that I used a few things from the dollar store to make this card. I used some double sided mounting squares to pop up my stamps. They were very adhesive and easy to cut into shapes if needed. You get 48 squares in the set for $1.25. I used about 5 for this card. They were a great alternative to the more expensive foam tape and a LOT easier to find! They pop up the images slightly less than the more expensive tape, but for this card I didn't mind.

I also used some stick on buttons from the dollar store, again $1.25, for embellishment. They worked out great! The adhesive seems to run across the entire row of the buttons, but if you pull off the button while holding the adhesive it worked fine. It definitely had enough stickiness on it. I also fussy cut out my stamps using small scissors from the dollar store. I had a lot of fun with this one!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge ( A Sequin Incident )

 Main Ingredients:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Information HERE

Well, I think I am officially allowed to call myself a card maker now. It happened. I had an incident. A sequin incident.

First, I think it is only fair to say that this disaster was one hundred percent my own fault. My cave woman instincts always get the best of me when it comes to opening packages. I don't care how much tape or glue is on a package, I REFUSE to use anything other than my own hands to open things! It is my right to refuse sound advice such as "just get a pair of scissors". I say no. I can open it just fine on my own! A few grunts and pulls later- sequins everywhere.

That wasn't enough for me. No, I would NOT let those sequins think that they had triumphed over me! I cleaned them up the best I could and decided that it would somehow still be a smart idea to use them, even while still in my primitive sequin-induced rage.
Did you know that sequins like to stick all over you? As in, 30 sequins will roll themselves all over the front and back of your hands, never allowing you to properly grip them? You can try to pull them off individually of wack your hands against the floor, but they will still grip onto you like leeches. Sucking any remaining sanity out from your skin.
The sequins weren't done with me yet. Oh no. Not yet. Then the glue had to get involved. I thought that perhaps there was still time and sanity left to make a nice pattern on my card using some sequins. "Oh, you mean a half-sticky globby mess of sequins in the middle of your card? Can do!" answered the sequins as I tried to gently place them on the paper.

So, there you have it. 3 stick on button stickers to cover up the scars which the sequins left on my card...and my heart.

MFT Sketch Challenge 375: Cat on the Shelf

Main Ingredients:

So far this card has been my favorite to make! I am so happy with how it turned out! I first colored my stamps from the BB I knead you set and then placed the die cut stamps onto all of the pattern papers to see which paper complimented them best. Then I followed the MFT sketch to place all of the larger pieces. It was so much fun putting it all together and I am absolutely in love with this cat and the entire stamp set!
The 3 little jewels I put on really helped eliminate that feeling of emptiness I found on a few of the parts of the card. I got a great pack of little jewels from the dollar store! Dollar stores are THE place to go for cheap, but still great embellishments for cards.

MFT Color Challenge 89 :Lawn Fawn's Sewn With Love !

 Main Ingredients:

First, I stamped out all of the images I thought I might use for the card, I had some trouble getting the stamp lines to be nice and bold, so I found that removing the stamps from the plastic lid that did stamp well and then re-stamping only the images that were still spotty really helped. I think it is a lot harder to achieve a nice crisp line when stamping multiple stamps with the misti.

I cut out all of the images from the paper using the die set. Then I tested the images against a lot of different colors to see which worked the best. I tried to keep the paper on theme with the color challenge as well.  I noticed that I hadn't lined up my sewing machine die well enough, and so that left it looking a little wonky. I begrudgingly decided to re-stamp, color and die cut a new one. It was worth it!

I'm very happy with how my card turned out!

Quick and Easy Lunar New Year Card

 Main Ingredients:

I used this Recollections fortune cookie stamp set I found at Michaels for 40% off, but this Lawn Fawn YEAR EIGHT Stamp Set will work great too and is actually a lot cheaper than the set I got!

Rather than using any fancy pattern paper for this card (which would also look great) I decided to make my own patterns using my stamps. I used a smaller fortune cookie stamp and placed it all over the front of my red cardstock base and then used the lucky cat stamp for the front of my second card.

I was originally going to put the lucky cat I colored and die cut on the front next to the large fortune cookie, but then realized it was really similar in color to the fortune cookie and looked a bit odd. I thought the image of the building would have a better contrast so I stamped and fussy-cut two of those for my card fronts.

For the interior I wanted the text to really stand out, so I measured and cut out some white card stock and then stamped on a nice sentiment from the MFT stamp set. Then I placed my very orange maneki nekos in the corner and I was done!
